What Inspires me?

I am inspired by people who excel in their chosen field of human endeavour, from musicians and artists to sporting greats and entrepreneurs. I love originality of thought: anything that opens up my mind, challenges my brain or makes me think about the world in a different way. In 1987 I watched Creighton Carvello memorise a shuffled deck of playing cards in just under three minutes on TV's "Record Breakers". This amazing mental feat of memory power inspired me to investigate my own memory and lead the way to my becoming the first World Memory Champion.

What makes me, me?

I have always had a lively, creative imagination. When I was a school boy, a neighbour nicknamed me "Dreamy Dom". I enjoy writing and arranging music, playing golf, drawing, and developing strategies to help children and adults with special needs. I am fascinated with the workings of the mind and in particular the electrical activity of the human brain. I have written several books and courses on memory training and I feel privileged to have travelled the world giving presentations both in education and commerce.
